THE GRIM REAPER BY OLUWA KAYODE TAIWO
I'm the mysterious wild cat
My appearance makes people's hearts stop and start
I flip in the dark like a black bat
I am the callous ripper of hearts.
As musty smells like mountain ash assail you
Beware, I am so close, the harbinger of failure
I wear a gown striped with the colour of night
Streaked with brownish stains once bright.
My presence will dip you all into grief
I devour your souls and push you off life's cliff
I dance to the tune of anguished cries
Salty water dripping off your love ones eyes.
I'm immortal, I harvested your ancestors
My shining armor, red like hibiscus
I ascend with souls to heaven, then y'all mourn.
Like a shadow, I trailed your path since you were born.
I walk with bizarre intent
To deprive your lens,
I show you light beyond your darkness
I am the grim reaper, author of sadness.
